We are a great fan of podcasts and have listened to a variety in our quest for information on independent authors and self-publishing trends. There are some great shows out there and they are a perfect method of rapidly gaining information about any topic. As an author, you’ll want to get as much information as you can to help you sell more books. Here is a list of the four self-publishing podcasts that we have found most helpful:
1. Sell More Books Show
The Sell More Books Show is a weekly podcast focusing on helping new and experienced authors stay up-to-date with the latest self-publishing and indie news, tools and book selling/marketing strategies. This is truly THE BEST podcast to keep you up-to-date with everything that is going on in the industry.
2. Rocking Self Publishing
Rocking Self-Publishing is a fortnightly podcast. This was one of the fist podcasts that we listened to and so is one of our favourites. Listen to the backlist for a multitude of hints and tips from a mixed collection of successful independent authors – you won’t be disappointed.
3. Self Publishing Roundtable
The Self-Publishing Roundtable started out as a joke between five strangers on Twitter. It has a rather relaxed banter around various themes in self-publishing – though you do have to hunt for the gems amongst all the raucous, good-natured chatter.
4. The Creative Penn
Another of our favourites – Joanna Penn’s was one of the very first indie author podcasts and she still provides great value with weekly interviews, inspiration, and information on Writing, Publishing Options, Book Marketing and Creative Entrepreneurship.
